WE CONNECT BUSINESS
North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest independent networking and business support organisations in Cheshire.
We connect businesses and offer our members a range of practical and professional services.
In addition to hosting an array of B2B networking events throughout the year, North Cheshire Chamber provides member-to-member marketing opportunities, business advice, training and exportation services as well as lobbying representation to key stakeholders and influencers in Cheshire.
SUPPORTING BUSINESSES FOR CENTURIES
North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, previously known as Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise, was established in the 19th Century. One of the first presidents was William Coare Brocklehurst in 1870; a prominent English Liberal politician, MP and head of a family of silk producers in Macclesfield.
Chambers of Commerce were originally founded to act as a local voice in decisions over Westminster, primarily concerned with trades and treaties, taxes, currency, tariffs and bounties.
However the role of Chambers has now evolved to that which we see today – an independent membership organisation providing professional business services, support and marketing opportunities to the local community.
Although the history of North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce is largely rooted in heavy industry, as seen with the silk and cotton industries in Cheshire, there has been a significant shift in the North Cheshire economy to a more service-orientated focus.
North Cheshire Chamber has continued to evolve and adapt in order to support the dynamic and vibrant business community.
